Trip fit trekkers’ three-peak challenge
This month Neil Dooley hiked the highest peaks in Yorkshire to raise over £2,300 for Friends of Lancasterian.
Best friends Neil Dooley and Jason Nixon and hiked 24 miles and over 5200ft in two days to raise funds for the school that Neil’s daughter Eva has attended from the age of two.
Eva has cerebral palsy, learning and development issues. She communicates using a head switch and facial expressions, and is fed via a tube in her stomach, as she can't coordinate swallowing and breathing. Despite all these challenges Eva is a happy girl who takes part in a wide range of activities at the school.
For the last seven months, challenge organiser Joe from JT Fitness and Jason have been helping Neil get back in shape following recovery from a broken foot. Neil’s challenge started with walks around Edale and Glossop and progressed to two of the three peaks.
‘Staff at the School are brilliant and work tirelessly – I can’t thank them enough for the support they have given my daughter Eva over the years. Mere words are not enough, that’s why I’ve taken this gruelling challenge to raise money for the School.’
