Fundraising can be hard going, so it’s always worth remembering why you’re supporting Friends of Lancasterian and the many young lives that will be positively affected by your good work.
Pick something fun to do
Just like the children at Lancasterian we want you to have fun. If this is the first time you’ve fund raised for us start with something you know (like baking and selling cakes). If you fancy trying something more adventurous take a look at our upcoming events.
Give yourself time
Before you set the date, make sure you’ve given yourself plenty of time to get everything sorted, and for people to get it in their diaries. Pick a date that’s easy for people, like the weekend.
Set a fundraising target
A fundraising target will really give you that extra incentive.
Don’t forget to Gift Aid it
Any UK tax payer who donates to you can include Gift Aid, which means the taxman adds 25% to their gift. That’s another £1 for every £4 you raise! It makes a huge difference.
Tell everyone and remember why you’re doing it
Tell as many people as you can about your event. If you’re inviting friends or family to your event you can use email or social media to spread the word.
Whatever your fundraising event please stay safe. You can get free health and safety information from The Health and Safety Executive online.
